Upcoming ‘Bloody Bunnies’ Looks Quite Interesting

As I was scrolling through my email this morning, quite a curious looking game popped up called Bloody Bunnies, an online multiplayer game in which you try and jump on other bunnies’ heads, somewhat similar to an old-school Mario game.

And by the looks of it, it seems to be a universal app, along with being released as some sort of a freemium title.  You’ll be able to upgrade the features for free, though, by using Tapjoy as a means of earning the features not included in the initial download.

Bloody Bunnies will be released September 1st, and they’ve also released a gameplay video and a few screenshots for your viewing pleasure.

Hands-on Preview of ‘Legendary Wars’, Releasing Soon

Legendary Wars by Liv Games is one of those games that is a long time in the making. The game has come a long way since its conception in a garage, the development team toiled for months, but in the end, the wait for the consumer will be most definitely worth it. A castle defense hybrid that brings in RPG elements to the lane tower defense style made infamous by Plants vs Zombies, throw in some real-time strategy for good measure and Legendary Wars will hook you from the start.

Once you pick up your jaw from the popping graphics, you will find a very polished game. After you send your miner to collect gems for you to buy troops you are in business. To make things interesting and different, the miner somehow has access to different colored gems in every world. It’s a little touch, but one that shows the creativeness of the developers. It reaps polish and charm. And it is those little touches that has this game standing head and shoulders above the crowd.

Goals of each level are different, whether you need to just sit and defend the onslaught of enemies that include everything from zombies to vampires and everything in between, storm the enemy castle, or even protect one leader or another from harm. Mixed in with these levels are short quests that amount to a running with a purpose mini-game. Make your way through these levels by jumping obstacles, slaying enemies, tag teaming with your allies and more. They serve as an excellent change of pace. Another way Liv Games attempts to keep the game constantly fresh and new.

Be sure to visit the armory in between levels to upgrade your units, upgrade your castle and when the time comes, equip your heroes with armor. Lots goes on in the well planned and laid out armory so be sure to explore every nook and cranny. Use your hard earned gems here and if you find yourself outmatched, replay a level to earn more coins (at a reduced rate from your first playthrough however).

Impressive are the types of allies you will have access to as you move along in the game. One of my favorite moments was having my unicorn spew rainbows to defeat bats and vampires. But you will also collect wizards and more. Though I have not finished the first playthrough, I am told there are surprises to be found on a second and third time around, making this game have an incredible amount of content.

The time that it has taken Liv Games to perfect this game is evident. Almost a year in the making, the development team is still open to improvements and tweaks. Listening to the feedback from testers they have recently implemented many changes even at this late stage to create the perfect experience for the user. Never is a question too inconsequential for them to take the time to return an email promptly. Very impressive is this endeavor. And if the care and love that is being shown during development is any indication of the maintenance after release, the game will continue to grow and blossom.

Look for the release of Legendary Wars by Liv Games on the AppStore soon!

New Details and Cinematic Trailer for Real Racing 2

Firemint continues to trickle out enticing details on Real Racing 2.  They’ve just released their cinematic trailer, along with the news that Real Racing 2 will use real, licensed cars (before, they were pretty much made up).

We’ve already known that the 2006 BMW Z4 Coupe and the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R would be included, but the trailer also reveals three other vehicles that will be featured in the game: the 2010 model of the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500, the #33 Jaguar RSR XKR GT, and the Nissan GT-R (R35).  Still no word yet from Firemint on the release date or what we can expect to pay for it (or any footage of actual gameplay as yet), but I know the trailer has gotten me pretty excited to see what surprises the good folks at Firemint have in store for us this go round.

So without further ado, here’s the cinematic:

Exclusive Trailer and Preview of ToonRacer

We’ve got all the details for the upcoming cart racer ToonRacer from Bigpoint, developers of online browser games.  Their idea of bringing ToonRacer to the App Store is one that should intrigue most with its cross platform, 3D multiplayer.

The developers have also mentioned that the game will sport a slew of gameplay modes along with the ability to “level up” your character and his vehicle, although details about the features and gameplay are pretty scarce.

Deep under the earth you explore in a world full of dark ToonRacer Tunnel. You see, what has built wonderful cities to mankind in the underground and all that should remain hidden in the darkness and never come to light. The treasures of civilization and the waste waiting to be discovered by you. In Toon Racer, You choose one of the many characters and organize your own car, despite the cartoon graphics, the control of the vehicle is very realistic. The various racing modes promise you variety and fun, and the progression of your character and your racing machine you are now before new challenges.

ToonRacer alllows you to test your skill on the race track like Kart Racer. Under the working title “Cave Gladiators” unveiled in the 2010 gamescom Europe, ToonRacer has a special feature of the cute-funny characters racing together in the 3D environment powered by Unity3D.

A release date has not been announced, but it should be available within the coming months.  Check out the screenshots and trailer below for more information.

We should also be having some hands-on time soon, so stay tuned!

Hands-on Preview with ‘Predators’, Should be Releasing Today

Predators is an upcoming movie game in collaboration with Fox Entertainment and Chillingo, along with Angry Mob Games, who also have developed Guerrilla Bob.  With that said, I was able to get a hands-on preview of the game pretty close to the release date, and I’m pretty excited to say that this is one of the bloodiest, most action-packed games I’ve ever played.

If you’re like me and love movies such as Saving Private Ryan and 300, then this is definitely a game to look forward to.  It has a numerous amount of fighting combos, along with around 7 or 8 different weapons.  You also have the ability to upgrade the damage and stats of each weapon using the points you accrue from each mission.

There are a total of 23 missions included in the game, and it took me around 2 hours to reach mission 11.  While it doesn’t seem like a very long time, I think it will be enough to satisfy your inner beast.

Included in the final build was also Chillingo’s Crystal social platform, which shouldn’t be much of a surprise.  Achievements are included if that interests you, and online leaderboards are available for each mission.

It’s definitely one of the best-looking games I’ve seen in terms of player models, and it will be launched as a universal binary.  What does that mean?  That means that the game will run in full resolution with the iPad and the iPhone, so you won’t have to double the pixels to run Predators on your iPad.

Predators is slated to be released today, so stay tuned for our full review.
