Gameloft On a Roll, Exceeds 20 Million Paid Downloads in App Store

Gameloft doesn’t have much competition when it comes to 3D gaming on the iPhone and iPad, and it’s success in the App Store definitely shows with this piece of news: the company has just exceeded 20 million paid downloads on the App Store.

“The first half of 2010 marks a new step for us on the App Store,” declared Michel Guillemot, President of Gameloft. “The launch of the iPad and iPhone 4 has opened new horizons for developers and allowed us once again to transform our consumers gaming experience. 20 million paid downloads is proof that our games meet the expectations of our players and we will continue to satisfy them.”

Of the 47 iPad and iPhone games launched from the beginning of this year, 42 have entered the top 5 paid apps chart.  They’re planning on expanding their game catalog even more with 15 new titles by year’s end, including NFL 2011 HD, Spiderman Total Mayhem HD, Assassin’s Creed Altair’s Chronicles HD, Dungeon Hunter 2, Gangstar Miami Vindication, and Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus (also on the iPad).

About Daniel

I have been an iPhone game addict ever since the NES emulator came out on the 1.1.4 iPhone 2G. After 2.0 and the App Store came out, my iPhone homescreen has never been the same. Other than writing reviews for App Store games, I play soccer/football, American football, volleyball, and golf. I love going to the beach and fishing on the pier. Some games not available on iPhone/iPod Touch that I truly love are the Call of Duty series, Guitar Hero III, Madden NFL 09, and PGR: Gotham Racing.
