June: Favorite Games of the Month

It’s that time of month again when we all collaborate and pick our favorite games of the month.  Since this month everyone’s choices seem to be the same, we’re going to morph everything into a couple of paragraphs.  With a unanimous vote or choice of Super Quickhook to be mentioned as one of our favorite games of the month, it’s coupled with the likes of Carnivores, Carcassonne, and Pro Zombie Soccer.

Now that we’ve got that over with, here’s the more detailed rundown of each game:

Super Quichook is the epitome of iPhone gaming.  Its controls are pretty simple and well cut-out, the content isn’t     too isn’t too shabby, and the gameplay is absolutely, mind-bogglingly addictive.  The Avalanche mode itself could        warrant a Must Have award, and the added campaign levels just seem to be a bonus.  The ability to buy so much crap  in the store also makes this experience quite unique, and the follow-up to one of our most beloved games is unanimously voted as on of our favorite games of the month. Pro Zombie Soccer, developed by the development team with a name too long to actually display, was released at  an uber cheap $0.99 price point with tons of content, fluid controls, and great artwork.  The experience is unique but  doesn’t feel like the developers were trying too hard to stand out, and overall it’s a game we completely recommend you  to pick up.  Just listen to our wise words and do what we say. Carnivores is a dinosaur hunting simulator that takes place in various remote islands, giving you the feeling of    Jurassic Park all over again.  But seriously though, with tons of weapons, dinosaurs to hunt, and locations, this is a  winner in my books.  Sure, it isn’t exactly a true “hunting” game, since you never hunt dinosaurs in real life, but it’s  definitely one of the best shooting experiences.  Sneaking up behind that dino and totally nailing its anus with an X-bow definitely procures some satisfying feelings inside.  It’s on sale for $1.99 also, so don’t hesitate before it’s too late. Carcassonne is a port of the award-winning board game in which you build tiles, collect landmarks, and try and  earn as many points as possible.  It also has online multiplayer with push notifications, so you don’t have to play a  full game in one sitting.  Local WiFi and Bluetooth is also included, making this a solid offline and online experience.  If you’re a fan of the original or just love board games in general, this is definitely one to check out.  For $4.99, you really can’t get any better than this.  The developers have also promised a free iPad update is coming, so for those looking forward to playing it on a larger estate shouldn’t have to wait much longer.  And for those with iPhone 4s, they’ve already updated it with higher resolution graphics. And that’s our favorite games for the month of June.  Check back next month and we’ll have a list of more of our favorite games.  If you have some suggestions and think we missed out on one of your favorite games for this month, be sure to let us know in the comments!

About Daniel

I have been an iPhone game addict ever since the NES emulator came out on the 1.1.4 iPhone 2G. After 2.0 and the App Store came out, my iPhone homescreen has never been the same. Other than writing reviews for App Store games, I play soccer/football, American football, volleyball, and golf. I love going to the beach and fishing on the pier. Some games not available on iPhone/iPod Touch that I truly love are the Call of Duty series, Guitar Hero III, Madden NFL 09, and PGR: Gotham Racing.
