Battle Bears, the first one, was one of the weirdest games I have ever seen in my life. It was all about shooting bears in the face, causing them to explode in rainbow goodness, which again, is completely odd and quite weird. But the game itself was not too shabby, although I didn’t find myself playing it for too long.
Next up is Battle Bears-1, a “prequel” to the original Battle Bears. They’ve changed the gameplay to be more of a dual-stick shooter, but the same head-popping, rainbow-shooting goodness is all there. But this time, there’s larger creatures, different weapons, and a much different game experience.
While I found the controls to be a little bit too sensitive, and the game a bit repetitive, those are only my initial impressions of around 5 minutes of game time. I’ll bring you all some more once I’ve had enough time with this bear-shooting, head-popping, rainbow-streaking iPhone game.
Battle Bears-1 is available now for $0.99.
