‘Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2’ Races onto the App Store

Activision seems to be always sneaky and sneaking up right under our very noses, and this time, they’ve released Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2, the sequel to the hit cart-racing game first released almost two years ago on the very same App Store.  At it’s time, Crash Nitro Kart was an enjoyable experience and one I’ve thoroughly played for many months, and it definitely set the bar pretty high for entering kart racers.

If you’re not familiar with Crash Kart, it’s basically like Mario Kart but with different characters.  While it would have been nice for an actual Crash Bandicoot platformer to be released on the App Store, this should suffice for those looking for quality cart racers on the App Store.

Beware though, as it seems like Crash Kart 2 is suffering from crashing issues.  Other than that, it boasts of online multiplayer, challenging friends, and more.  Crash Kart 2 is priced at $9.99.

About Daniel

I have been an iPhone game addict ever since the NES emulator came out on the 1.1.4 iPhone 2G. After 2.0 and the App Store came out, my iPhone homescreen has never been the same. Other than writing reviews for App Store games, I play soccer/football, American football, volleyball, and golf. I love going to the beach and fishing on the pier. Some games not available on iPhone/iPod Touch that I truly love are the Call of Duty series, Guitar Hero III, Madden NFL 09, and PGR: Gotham Racing.

  1. Hasn’t crashed on me once, even in multiplayer. Apparently the game is copy protected, so it’s quite likely that many complaints about crashing are coming from people who pirated the game.

  2. Just a note about that needs to be done to the game.

The tracks and characters are brilliant but the way they are presented is poor, let me explain.

Firstly, you only have to finish in the top three of a race to unlock the next one – this isn’t very challenging, you should need to finish first.

There are four cups, each one unlocks another game mode. You get nothing for completing these other game modes such as time attack, skill etc and there is not for doing it, not even a star next to it if completed, so it’s pretty pointless.

This is what you need to do. Separate each of the tracks, and the user has to race for a trophy (first place) relic (time attack) and CRASH – like in the original name, collecting the letters. Next to each track in the load screen you see the trophy, crash and relic you collected. Simple? You have to get all 12 and you unlock a character.

This would add depth, replay value and is similar to the original Crash racing game which is what everyone liked.
