New Gameplay Video for ‘Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter’

Here it is: a blood-spewing, shotgun-shooting, limb-exploding game that is soon to hit the App Store.  But it’s not the usual zombie atmosphere, and for that matter, it has nothing to do with zombies at all.  No sir, no zombies.  But the next best thing is included: dinosaurs.

I remember when I was a little kid I was obsessed with dinosaurs, researching through dozens of dinosaur books, compiling a list of dinosaur names, and being overjoyed when I received a dinosaur book from the Natural History Museum in New York City.

And ever since then, I could never bag on dinosaurs, let alone hunt them.  But Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter gives you that chance to travel back in time to a period in which no homo sapien has ever traveled, and for some reason, you find yourself shooting off an already extinct-ready species.

Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter will be released by Tatem Games (one of the more promising emerging devs), and the price seems yet to be determined.

Now let’s cut the cheese and get to the gameplay video.

Note: Blood-spewing and limb-exploding not included.

About Daniel

I have been an iPhone game addict ever since the NES emulator came out on the 1.1.4 iPhone 2G. After 2.0 and the App Store came out, my iPhone homescreen has never been the same. Other than writing reviews for App Store games, I play soccer/football, American football, volleyball, and golf. I love going to the beach and fishing on the pier. Some games not available on iPhone/iPod Touch that I truly love are the Call of Duty series, Guitar Hero III, Madden NFL 09, and PGR: Gotham Racing.

  1. Looks like the port of the old PC game.

Had great replay value. You have a trophy room which shows all your stuffed dinos. The urge to hunt the largest t-rex possible with a crossbow kept me going for a long time.

Curious to see how the touch controls work. Instant buy though.

  2. I believe it is a port of the PC version, as Tatem Games worked on the PC before going to the iPhone. According to the feature list on their website, the iPhone version will include a trophy room, although I’m not sure if it’s the same one as the one you’re talking about.
