Last week, I wrote a research paper on investing in iPhone gaming, highlighting notable games that have done quite successfully; including Backbreaker Football, Pocket God, and Flight Control. But little did I know about Parachute Panic until a FDG Entertainment notified me of their great success on the App Store.
The 4 million downloads include both lite version and full version combined, and while it’s definitely possible for the lite version to have 3.5 million and the full 500,000 downloads, the 4 million mark is huge nonetheless. Parachute Panic would then be put in the list as one of the few iPhone games to surpass one million, let alone four million along with Tap Tap Revenge which claims to have been downloaded 11 million times.
In other news, Parachute Panic has been updated to version 1.4 to include Doodle from Doodle Jump, a popular character found in many other games including Harbor Master and Pocket God. This doodle type of graphics have been quite popular on the iPhone, and the inclusion of the Doodle Jump mascot seems to fit quite comfortably in the Parachute Panic game arena.
Anywho, congratulations to FDG Entertainment for surpassing 4 million and wish them more success in the upcoming year.
