When I read that Need for Speed: Shift was available in Aussie, I was stunned. I’ve been waiting all day for its arrival, and it’s finally here in the US Store (and I’m assuming everywhere else). Most have been waiting with high hopes with this game also as Need for Speed: Undercover was one of the best iPhone racers of all time.
Need for Speed: Shift seems to stray away from arcade racers though, and while it does feature a nitro boost, the controls and visuals seem to be quite different. The game also features 20 licensed cars, 16 different tracks, and iPhone 3GS exclusive physics-based accelerated graphics. Local WiFi and Bluetooth are features that are also available throughout 6 different game modes.
While the price tag may set off some, the game itself seems to be quite worth it. $9.99 seems quite reasonable, and there doesn’t seem to be any DLC available at the moment.
