Gameloft has been on a roll this year, releasing many must have titles including Modern Combat: Sandstorm and Gangstar. They’re not stopping either and have two more titles announced for this month only. Their two previously announced games have already been released today, both of which should appeal to a wide variety of gamers.
Avatar: Based on James Cameron’s movie Avatar, Gameloft creates a whole new storyline that does not have much related to the movie except for the characters, environment, and weaponry. In an interview with one of the movie’s producers, he claims that he wanted Gameloft to create a more stand alone movie game with its own story created by the developers; leaving the developer to not be put into boundaries. He claims that Avatar for the iPhone does just that, parting from the movie’s storyline and providing a wholly different story for those to enjoy.
While some people may not be convinced with the $9.99 price tag, it definitely looks good. The video embedded above shows a bit of the gameplay, which looks quite similar to Gameloft’s other action titles including Hero of Sparta and Assassin’s Creed.
Bridge Odyssey: This is a game that didn’t receive much hype, but a noteworthy game nonetheless. Bridge Odyssey is quite different from Avatar, providing more of a physics puzzler atmosphere with blocks looking similar to RealArcade’s Tiki Towers and BonusLevel.org’s Moonlights. The game is also targeted at more of the mid-level entry games, priced rightly at $2.99.
