Driver from Gameloft is Now on the App Store

It seems like this week and the next will be chock-full of good games. In a surprise release, Gameloft’s newest game Driver is available for purchase on the App Store. A remake of the PS1 game, from what I’ve gathered it certainly won’t disappoint.

Each of the game’s cities are bigger than the entire play area of Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, and for replayability and additional content Gameloft has even added a Training Mode, a Free Play Mode, and various driving minigames. In total, there areΒ  40 missions, 4 cities, numerous additional gameplay modes, very realistic physics and car damage, and even functioning traffic lights, pedestrians, traffic, and of course, cops.

Gameloft is arguably one of the best developers for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and with the release of Driver it hints that their upcoming games Avatar and N.O.V.A. – Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, should soon appear and join Driver on the App Store.

We should have a full review of the game up soon, but for now you can just read up on the description and check out the screenshots. The price point is the usual $6.99 Gameloft price, but I’m thinking it’s quite a lot of bang for your buck.

  1. I played the original Driver for hours on end. Mind you, not the story mode, but just running from the cops and turning that one bridge into an awesome jump. I’m looking forwards to playing this one.

  2. Hey Nick – I sent you an email. πŸ˜›

Never played the original Driver, but I’ll take your word for it that it’s a great game. Just looking at the screenshots makes me want it, and coupled with the description I’m really itching to try it out.
