Ace Combat Xi Flies Into App Store

This ex-PSP game has finally hit the App Store shelves, and many have been awaiting its arrival.  We haven’t seen much dogfighting action lately, with only F.A.S.T. executing anything close to a real dogfighting experience.  There have been many attempts though, including Metal Sun, but most have failed due to poor execution.

Knowing Namco, we can only hope for a smooth release.  We’ve seen titles like Garters & Ghouls utterly fail due to controls and performance issues along with Pac-Man Remix, etc.  Ace Combat Xi seems to be a much more sophisticated title though, boasting of full 3D graphics and excellent dogfighting action.

We should have a review for this game, but for now please check out the hands-on video along with the screenshots.  Ace Combat Xi is priced at $4.99.

About Daniel

I have been an iPhone game addict ever since the NES emulator came out on the 1.1.4 iPhone 2G. After 2.0 and the App Store came out, my iPhone homescreen has never been the same. Other than writing reviews for App Store games, I play soccer/football, American football, volleyball, and golf. I love going to the beach and fishing on the pier. Some games not available on iPhone/iPod Touch that I truly love are the Call of Duty series, Guitar Hero III, Madden NFL 09, and PGR: Gotham Racing.
