Gameloft Up To No Good, Releases Videos for ‘Driver’ and ‘Skater Nation’

With December closing in on us, more and more games have been released at a rapid pace, and Gameloft doesn’t seem to be stopping its ongoing steam engine to get games onto the iPhone and iPod Touch.  They have released videos for both Skater Nation and Driver, and while the video for Driver has no gameplay, it’s definitely worth watching.

Driver was originally released back in 1999 for the PS1, and it was one of the more successful games on that console.  Gameloft has also released a mobile port for the game, and they intend to bring this beauty next to the iPhone.  The gameplay can be described as follows:

Tanner, an NYPD detective gone undercover due to his impressive driving skills, must gain the confidence of the syndicate’s bosses by performing increasingly difficult missions such as stopping or following another car, driving through windows, delivering a stolen car or scaring a taxi customer.

Skater Nation, on the other hand, is a skating simulator much to the likes of Van SK8 Pool and Touchgrind.  We haven’t seen many fully-functional skating games on the iPhone as of yet, but we can only hope that Gameloft brings in a solid skate simulator.  Deducting from the video, it seems as if Skater Nation will feature some high-end graphics along with many different types of tricks.  The game is described as follows:

Skater Nation seems to be on track for arriving this month, and it will include fully 3D city environments along with non-linear gameplay.  You will have the choice to pick from 8 different skaters.

We should have more news as they become available.  Skater Nation should be available this month while Driver will be available next month in December.
