Indie dev studio Spiralstorm Games has just recently come out with their game Flyloop. As a two man team, this game is quite an accomplishment with smooth transitions between screens, surprisingly addictive gameplay, and overall enjoyable experience.
The game goes something like this: you have to draw circles matching the color of the butterflies. Each level is timed, so you have to catch these butterflies quickly or it’s game over. If you draw a circle that has a different color butterfly in it, it doesn’t count and you have to draw the circle all over again. At about Level IV, the butterflies are flying all over the place: through the grass, in the air, everywhere. It gets pretty chaotic almost to the point where you’re drawing circles like a frantic maniac.
Art style for this game is absolutely gorgeous. The grass, butterflies, background, everything is beautifully done. The intro screens and menu designs are very nicely displayed and give a sense of relaxation and calmness. It may be “too cute” for some people’s tastes, but you have to admit, the art is very well done.
I would have to say Flyloop will be great for your little daughter, and maybe even for yourself when nobody’s watching. Your wife or girlfriend may own an iPhone, and this game should probably on the top of things to load the iPhone with. Cute designs, smooth gameplay, and online highscores make this game something to look into. The cost is $0.99.
